Changes for Fall 2016

Clearly I haven't used this site in a while, given the last post was before the Fall 2015 semester. And to be real, I'm not certain how much it will get used in the future. But, I'll provide this update, none-the-less.

I've taught this class for two years, and my Data Visualization class for four. After working both for a while, I found that the material overlapped quite a bit because students came into both classes from the same level: not much experience with data or the tools to wrangle it. We fixed them up pretty good and the classes have been great, but I've found they are coming too late in students' class schedule.

So, R.B. Brenner and I decided to combine the classes into Reporting with Data, offering it to students a year earlier, and offering the same class each semester. This way, I can serve more students and they can build more data reporting into the rest of their work while at UT.

I'm not sure what that will mean for this site. I've moved most of my work to Canvas and Google Drive, and if I do anything different for online, it will probably be to move this type of material to Github. I'm not sure yet.

But I'll leave this site here in case anyone finds the material included useful.
