There is still space available in Data-Driven Reporting for both undergraduate and graduate students class this fall. The class will be Mon-Wed from 6-7:30 p.m.
Data journalism is the hottest segment in journalism right now, and it is applicable to any beat or focus, both inside and out of "traditional" journalism, whatever that is these days.
While I will make some adjustments to content this year, the goals are the same: To tell better stories with data as a source. Students will learn how to request data from public and governmental sources, to clean up and analyze that data using tools such as Excel, SQL and Tableau, and use statistical models to accurately report based on the data.
